June 22 — Geely Galaxy unveiled official images of its all-new full-size SUV, the Geely Galaxy Battleship 700, on social media. Featuring a rugged, boxy design, the new model is powered by a tri-motor, four-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid system and comes equipped with differential locks. The powertrain delivers a combined output of 830 kW (1,128.8 hp), while achieving a power-to-weight ratio of 392 hp per ton. Positioned as an AI-powered all-terrain hardcore SUV, the Battleship 700 is scheduled to launch later this year
Rugged Exterior with Futuristic Details
From the front, the Battleship 700 adopts a bold, upright stance with a large flat hood and pronounced character lines. The fascia features a wide rectangular grille outline that de-emphasizes the traditional rugged grille design commonly seen on gasoline-powered off-roaders, aligning it with its new-energy vehicle identity.
A full-width LED daytime running light stretches across the front end, with an illuminated Galaxy logo positioned at the center for strong visual recognition. The headlamp design is particularly distinctive, incorporating curved lighting elements within the clusters.
Classic Boxy SUV Proportions
The side profile fully embraces the classic “boxy SUV” aesthetic. Straight body lines and a squared-off silhouette create a robust and commanding appearance. Pronounced front and rear fender flares add muscularity, while large off-road wheels reinforce its adventurous character.
Unlike many modern EVs, the Battleship 700 uses traditional exposed mechanical door handles instead of flush-mounted units, improving durability and ease of use in outdoor and off-road environments.
The roof is fitted with a matte-black integrated roof rack for additional cargo-carrying capability. At the front of the roof sits a prominent roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, adding advanced intelligent-driving hardware to the vehicle’s rugged package.
Black-painted B- and C-pillars create a floating-roof effect, while privacy glass throughout the cabin enhances the SUV’s premium feel.
Traditional Off-Road Rear Design
The rear styling is clean and purposeful, with a narrower upper section and a wider lower section that visually lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity.
Vertically oriented taillights with rounded rectangular shapes feature layered internal lighting elements for strong nighttime visibility. The side-hinged tailgate and externally mounted spare tire—often referred to as a “backpack” spare—pay homage to classic off-road vehicle design. A substantial rear bumper and large protective skid plate further emphasize its off-road credentials.
Over 1,100 Horsepower and Advanced Off-Road Technology
Power comes from a tri-motor plug-in hybrid four-wheel-drive system producing a combined 830 kW (1,128.8 hp). The vehicle is also equipped with differential locks to enhance off-road capability.
The Battleship 700 will feature Geely’s self-developed GVMC Dynamic Control System, enabling it to successfully complete an 80 km/h moose test.
Additional technology highlights include:
- AI Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive, capable of automatically switching between front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive
- Crab-walk mode
- Tank-turn capability (pivot turning on the spot)
- Tire blowout driving assistance
- Continuous automatic obstacle avoidance
- 800 mm water-fording depth
- Satellite communication capability
